This go s along with, The UN Deception and the new world order! take it how you want, but when they get their way lets see what you think then.

No control of the United States, BY the United Nations or foreign nations.

This Country fought for their freedom from foreign control and drew up a Constitution to follow to stay free.

The less it is monitored, the more liberties it takes.

If you don’t like your tax bill now, watch out for the plans of the United Nations. The U.N. has been cooking up proposals to tax you every time you fly, drink, bank, use the Internet or earn a buck.

For an institution that has yet to master the art of policing its own accounts, that’s awfully ambitious. But an urge to dig ever deeper into your wallet, dear tax-payer, has become a staple on the drawing boards of U.N. plan-o-crats.

The U.N. already collects billions in both dues and voluntary contributions from the governments of the developed world–first and foremost from the U.S., which typically foots the bill for roughly one-quarter of most major U.N. activities. The actual U.N. budget is a slippery number. The book-keeping is opaque, often tardy or incomplete and spread across many parts of the U.N. archipelago, with no single U.N. office fully accountable for the entire system. In 2006 then-Secretary General Kofi Annan said the U.N. system-wide budget was about $20 billion; by now, with ever-expanding U.N. operations, funding appeals and hazily defined “partnerships,” it is certainly larger. But for U.N. spenders this torrent of other people’s money is not enough. Read the rest of this entry »

Thankful for Fading Freedoms

Abraham Lincoln once said, “Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves.”But what if those who restrict our freedoms are the very people who are in charge of securing them?

Over just the past year, Washington has worked double time to limit your liberties, despite the fact that such reductions have been cloaked under the guise of governmental progress.
 Thankful for Fading Freedoms

First and foremost, Washington has reduced our freedoms and restricted our future by heaping upon our posterity astronomical amounts of debt, trying to jump-start the credit circus in our economy. Despite borrowing $787 billion from China to stimulate the economy with a promise to cap unemployment at 8 percent, unemployment has climbed to 10.2 percent and shows no sign of decreasing. And right now, a record 14 percent of homeowners are either in foreclosure or behind by at least one mortgage payment. Read the rest of this entry »

While the military still is reeling and recovering from the massacre at Fort Hood, my wife, Gena, and I decided to boost the morale of military personnel by visiting the cadets at West Point and the wounded warriors at Brooke Army Medical Center, at Fort Sam Houston. Little did I know that Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the shooter at Fort Hood, was hospitalized there.

The day before Veterans Day, we visited West Point. We were amazed by its pristine and picturesque setting, 50 miles north of New York City on the Hudson River. It was also fascinating to learn more about the academy’s history. From the day of its founding, March 16, 1802, West Point has produced some of our country’s greatest leaders, including Grant and Lee, Pershing and MacArthur, Eisenhower and Patton, Schwarzkopf and Petraeus, etc. Read the rest of this entry »

When I was a kid (mid- to late-’60s), nightly TV news shows were everyone’s source of information. Alongside from the flickering bland-and-white coverage of the Vietnam war and protesting hippies, I distinctly remember stories that would be foreign to us in 2009: food prices.

Yes, food prices. Right there in the segment where today you’d expect to see updates on gasoline prices, you’d have David Brinkley or Walter Cronkite or Howard K. Smith used to report on the prices of beef, chicken, bread, milk or eggs. Read the rest of this entry »

Anniversaries are opportunities to reflect on the past and on what it might mean for the future. Monday saw the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, even if Barack Obama could not find time to travel once again to Berlin to attend the commemoration there. And Wednesday is the 91st anniversary of the armistice that ended World War I.The two events being remembered can be seen as bookends: the beginning and end of the history of a Short Twentieth Century. Until 1914, the world had seemed to be on a march toward democracy, liberty, economic growth and globalization, under the leadership of Western Europe and its offspring America.
