Obama’s Oscar

By Chuck Norris0
3/09/2010

I am no pinnacle of humility, and I’ve learned my fair share of hard lessons from the camps of conceit. But I’m not sure the former Chicago politician occupying the White House ever has been schooled with a primer on the perils of pride.</p> <p>It’s one thing (though still distasteful) to be boastful in a sports or fighting ring; it’s quite another in the Oval Office. We were promised change, but it seems to me this White House’s smug swagger and strut rival the great taunts and bluster of Muhammad Ali in his heyday. In fact, if I were handing out awards, President Barack Obama would win hands down the Oscar for overconfidence and arrogance.<img src=”http://bob-leveetoday.com/bobl2/wp-includes/js/tinymce/plugins/wordpress/img/trans.gif” mce_src=”http://bob-leveetoday.com/bobl2/wp-includes/js/tinymce/plugins/wordpress/img/trans.gif” alt=”" class=”mceWPmore mceItemNoResize” title=”More…” />Here are a few examples of his Oscar-worthy political performances:</p> <p>Who can forget the State of the Union address back in January, when the president utterly disregarded and disrespected our military commanders and the U.S. Supreme Court? President Obama rebutted the entire Supreme Court in the justices’ presence and before the whole nation, with a premeditated and prepared accusation (later proved incorrect). “The Supreme Court,” he said, “reversed a century of law that I believe will open the floodgates for special interests — including foreign corporations — to spend without limit in our elections.”</p> <p>And what about the looks on the faces of the military commanders during the State of the Union? My view on gays in the military aside, the president’s smug demeanor in pushing the issue and the military leaders’ stoic response prompted me to ask, “Is the State of the Union really the place for a commander in chief to cast in-your-face politics before his leading military personnel with all of America watching?”</p> <p>Consider even the recent so-called health care summit. It might sound simple to some, but I believe it is symptomatic when members of Congress address the president as “Mr. President” and he calls on them only by their first names. The president went the entire six hours or so in this room full of Washington politicians and various notables addressing them by their first names rather than by the socially accepted and proper forms of address for senators and representatives. “John,” “Paul,” “Louise,” “Marsha,” etc. — one may argue that these are examples of familiarity, but I believe they are of contempt.</p> <p>In addition, to Sen. John McCain’s genuine concern for ramming a pork-ridden health care bill through Congress by politics as usual, President Obama replied, “We’re not campaigning anymore. The election is over.”</p> <p>And to Rep. Eric Cantor’s polite opening greeting, President Obama sarcastically commented about the high stack of pages in front of Cantor by saying: “Let me just guess; that’s the 2,400-page health care bill. Is that right?”</p> <p>As for other Americans who oppose his far-left agenda, the president jeered at them before a live audience a few months back, when he condescendingly declared: “Those folks who are trying to stand in the way of progress, let me tell you: I’m just getting started! I don’t quit. I’m not tired. … It is important for those folks to understand I’m just ready to go. We’re just going to keep on going.”</p> <p>The president demonizes any opposition and even tried socially to quarantine No. 1 Fox News as an illegitimate news organization because some commentators disagree with him. His actions remind me of these words of Fulton J. Sheen’s: “Pride is an admission of weakness; it secretly fears all competition and dreads all rivals.”</p> <p>Lou Pritchett — a former vice president of Procter &amp; Gamble — who retired in 1989 after working at the company for 36 years, hit the nail on the head when he wrote his renowned “open letter to President Obama”: “You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me. … You scare me because you lack humility and ‘class’, always blaming others.”</p> <p>The president lords himself over not only broadcast agencies, other politicians, his opponents and the American people but also our most precious founding documents. As I noted in last week’s column, President Obama described the Constitution as “an imperfect document … a document that reflects some deep flaws … (and) an enormous blind spot.” He also said, “The Framers had that same blind spot.”</p> <p>In possibly his gravest error, Obama haughtily placed himself above Judeo-Christian Scriptures when speaking at a church in June 2006 as a senator. In that message, he denigrated biblical books, including Leviticus and Deuteronomy, ridiculed the issue of the Bible’s inerrancy, called the Sermon on the Mount a radically inapplicable passage of Scripture, and declared that basing public policies upon the Bible “would be a dangerous thing.” He arrogantly concluded that “folks haven’t been reading their Bible,” setting himself above not only most others’ understanding of Scripture but also all of us who read it. In olden days, such sacred contempt would have been regarded as an abominable desecration — a man standing in the house of God claiming to be like a god, above others and even Scripture itself.</p> <p>President Obama, I don’t know whether you’ve spent a day in a Sunday school class, so here’s a verse that might help you. Proverbs 16:18: “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.”</p>

Dear Readers,

It has been over a year since President Obama announced his plans for comprehensive health reform.

Since the announcement, as Americans learned more and more about the Democrats’ health care bill, opposition to the left’s plans for big government health care have grown and grown.

It started with the explosion of outrage at town hall meetings over the bill’s cuts to Medicare to pay for new bureaucracies and programs.

It gained steam when Americans realized the frightening potential for “death panels” when you give government the power to deny care based on budgetary concerns. Read more »

Research Ties Diabetes Drug to Heart Woes

By GARDINER HARRIS
Published: February 19, 2010

Hundreds of people taking Avandia, a controversial diabetes medicine, needlessly suffer heart attacks and heart failure each month, according to confidential government reports that recommend the drug be removed from the market.

The reports, obtained by The New York Times, say that if every diabetic now taking Avandia were instead given a similar pill named Actos, about 500 heart attacks and 300 cases of heart failure would be averted every month because Avandia can hurt the heart. Avandia, intended to treat Type 2 diabetes, is known as rosiglitazone and was linked to 304 deaths during the third quarter of 2009.

“Rosiglitazone should be removed from the market,” one report, by Dr. David Graham and Dr. Kate Gelperin of the Food and Drug Administration, concludes. Both authors recommended that Avandia be withdrawn.

The internal F.D.A. reports are part of a fierce debate within the agency over what to do about Avandia, manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline. Some agency officials want the drug withdrawn because they believe there is a safer alternative; others insist that studies of the drug provide contradictory information and that Avandia should continue to be an option for doctors and patients. GlaxoSmithKline said that it had studied Avandia extensively and that “scientific evidence simply does not establish that Avandia increases” the risk of heart attacks. Read more »

If you’ve read the press releases being put out by Washington these days, you’d be convinced that the big bad Bush-caused recession of 2008-2009 is now safely beyond us.

Tain’t so.

If fact, the hoary mess which began under the last days of Bush & Democrats guarantees that Obama & Democrats will continue to take us down the rat-hole of national bankruptcy.

Here’s why.

The problem dates back a long way – to the “New Deal” days of Franklin Roosevelt and the “Great Society” days of Lyndon Johnson.  Big spenders both: of your money.

In 1933-1936 FDR created his big wave of so-called “progressive” legislation.  The Agricultural Adjustment Act became law in May, 1933.  The AAA paid farmers to not grow food.  It still does.

In 1935, the Social Security Act created Washington’s Ponzi scheme, misrepresented to the voters as an insurance retirement program.  It promised to invest worker payments in safe securities to pay for their future retirement.

Instead, SS payments – really taxes – are paid into the Federal Treasury and spent that year.  The Government then issues Treasury Notes (IOU’s) to a mythical Social Security “Trust Fund”.  In other words, the Government’s left pocket pays its right pocket with IOU’s from your pocket. Read more »

While House leaders jetted out of Washington after their big health care vote, Harry Reid is left scraping for options.

Should he tax the rich? Scale back the abortion provision or keep it? Keep pushing the opt-out idea on the public option? Reid has tapped Sen. Tom Carper to come up with a complicated “Plan B” on the public option — a co-op with a trigger, perhaps — but it’s all far from settled.

No matter what Reid decides, there’s an anti-incumbent mood sweeping the nation, according to a handful of polls. And even once popular members of Congress like Lindsey Graham are taking heat back home for even trying to be bipartisan.

It is time the courts and the laws should be revamped where the prosecution should be the same as the crime, and not a slap on the hand and say don’t do it again, or life, and stop the insanity plea.

If they prosecuted by the crime then there would not be so many in prison, death penalty for death, but if you are a woman they go for insanity, and men what ever mood they are in that day, then maybe they will get the idea that an eye for an eye means just that.

The Rise of the Conservative Woman

Doug Patton

ConservativeWoman hh 1 The Rise of the Conservative Woman

By Doug Patton: 11/18/2009

One of the most revealing things about liberals is their insistence that only they can define a “real” minority or a “real” woman. In the eyes of the left, Clarence Thomas, Ken Blackwell and J.C. Watts will never be “real” black men. Likewise, Michele Bachmann, the smiling firebrand conservative congresswoman from Minnesota, and Sarah Palin, the popular former governor of Alaska, will never be “real” women.

How can they be? After all, these women don’t support abortion. In fact, Palin actually had the audacity to give birth to a baby with Down Syndrome. As one embarrassed liberal wag put it during last year’s presidential campaign, “If abortion isn’t for that, what is it for?” Read more »

11/18/2009

Across the country, people are angry and frustrated at a government that seems to care more about itself than about the American people and their future.  Among the most troubling developments is the increased use of national security to provide political cover — both for politicians and for controversial legislation that cannot pass on its own. This “politicization” of national security is not only wrong, it makes it harder to protect the country. The examples of this politicization are plentiful and increasingly problematic. Recently, President Obama signed into law the Defense Authorization bill, which included controversial hate crimes legislation that could not pass as a stand-alone bill. There are rumblings that another national security bill, the Defense Appropriations Act, may have D. C. voting rights or an increase in the national debt limit attached to it. Read more »

While the military still is reeling and recovering from the massacre at Fort Hood, my wife, Gena, and I decided to boost the morale of military personnel by visiting the cadets at West Point and the wounded warriors at Brooke Army Medical Center, at Fort Sam Houston. Little did I know that Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the shooter at Fort Hood, was hospitalized there.

The day before Veterans Day, we visited West Point. We were amazed by its pristine and picturesque setting, 50 miles north of New York City on the Hudson River. It was also fascinating to learn more about the academy’s history. From the day of its founding, March 16, 1802, West Point has produced some of our country’s greatest leaders, including Grant and Lee, Pershing and MacArthur, Eisenhower and Patton, Schwarzkopf and Petraeus, etc. Read more »

Last year, the Government Accountability Office overturned the Air Force’s decision to buy the replacement for its aged KC-135 airborne tanker from the European Air Defense Systems (EADS)-Northrop Grumman consortium that offered the French Airbus-330.The GAO’s decision, as I wrote extensively then, was based in large part on the Airbus’s physical limitations. The aircraft simply cannot fly the tanker mission in accordance with longstanding Air Force requirements (read why). The Air Force’s decision to buy the Airbus despite those failures was such an incident of intellectual whoredom that Defense Secretary Gates took procurement authority from the Air Force and planned to buy the replacement tanker through his own procurement team. Why the Healthcare Bill Will Include Taxpayer-Funded Abortions

By Bob Lelderly_man.gif

What is going on in this Country, you want to kill babies, you want to kill Grandma, but you won’t pass a law that will let a senior die with dignity, and that same thing go s for a person who kills, you say he does not deserve the death penalty, what did he do to the person he killed, HE sentenced them to death.

There is some thing definitely wrong in this Country.

If you want Abortion in the bill then you need to put death with dignity in there as well, at least a senior has a say, a baby can not speak for his self.

The healthcare bills working their way through Congress should be opposed, and for so many reasons. They would ration care, expand entitlements, make all Americans dependent on government-approved insurance plans and add to our already stifling national debt. The bill passed by the House is horrendous. Whatever emerges from the Senate and later from the congressional conference committee should be opposed full stop. Read more »

STOP this test, test, test, lets get back to teaching like they did before 1960 s

How about looking at the schools, for one they are not letting the kids be kids, they load them down with so much home work because the teachers have better things to do then teach, and another thing if you are not the elite of the community they don’t want to bother with you, or can’t hold a b average.

There are some good teachers who are dedicated, there some that are always striking for more money and less work.

Presidential politics is about storytelling. Presented with a vivid storyline, voters naturally tend to fit every new event or piece of information into a picture that is already neatly framed in their minds.

No one understands this better than Barack Obama and his team, who won the 2008 election in part because they were better storytellers than the opposition. Obama’s Conflicted Strategy

After waiting months for a long-promised “new strategy” to fight what President Obama has oft defined as “the necessary war,” he has disappointed. His vaunted strategy not only lacks a clear objective, but is a message of defeat.

Obama spoke of “targeting the insurgency” while his administration prosecutes Navy SEALs for doing just that, imposes insane rules of engagement on soldiers in combat, and insists that terrorists be read their rights on the battlefield. The only targets, as analyst Ralph Peters has said, will be the Soldiers and Marines now hastily preparing to deploy on what their commander-in-chief has already announced as a war he does not support. Rep. Dan Burton Fights to Help Navy SEALs with Petition

Petitions have begun to circulate around Congress and across America asking that the Pentagon dismiss any charges against the three Navy SEALs who captured Ahmed Hashim Abed. Abed is the mastermind behind the brutal mutilation and murder of four American civilians in Fallujah in 2004 who now claims he got a bloody lip (or was punched in the stomach) while being detained by the SEALs. BOSTON (AP) – A panicky White House and Democratic allies scrambled Sunday for a plan to salvage their hard-fought health care package in case a Republican wins Tuesday’s Senate race in Massachusetts, which would enable the GOP to block further Senate action.

The likeliest scenario would require House Democrats to accept a bill the Senate passed last month, despite their objections to several parts. Read more »

Senators will vote on a pay-as-you-go measure this week as they move to address the country’s growing $12.3 trillion debt.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) will bring pay-go to the floor as an amendment to a bill seeking to increase the federal debt ceiling, part of a deal made with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in a broader debate over the federal debt.

Pay-go requires mandatory spending increases to be offset with spending cuts elsewhere or tax hikes. Reid’s office said the language is still being worked out. Read more »

Response to: Poster Child’ for Obama-hypocrisy-on-green-jobs

By Bob L.  My Answer to a comment!

See the problem here is that they did not get money direct, but they could have  receive Government money by installing the windows, that is where the conflict of interest comes in, and this could be interpreted as illegal, it just does not look good to the American people who are out of work, especially other window manufactures.

I am not against global warming or climate change, but there are to many factors that have not been brought in to factor why, I have been tracking down a lot of good information for a good cause why, any one can get this information, look to the OCEANS, check what I have been putting to gether at http://bob-levee.com/bob1 you will find a lot of good information there, I lived in a state for fifty two years ( just 50 miles north Mt St Helens ), to know there is more then what they are saying.

The problem is, if they do what they want to do, the working people are going to pay the price while the rich will profit, how would you feel if this all gets passed and you later find out that it was a scam for money.

Comment By Kim Masco

Turns out that Serious never took any money from DOE or any other agency. And when theyopened those plants and rehired the workers and Obama mentioned them, Zoi didn’t even work at DOE till several months later.
And lastly, just read on Stossels page that The Freedom Foundation of Minnesota took a donation recently from one of the big window manufacturers in Minnesota top fabricate this story. I hate anything crony IF IT IS TRUE. But I am disgusted that this story was put out there only to hurt the little guy, rather than the facts.

The New World Order

Barack ObamaAs the 20th-century idols of atheism, humanism and communism are falling worldwide a spiritual vacuum is left that must be filled. In the resulting contest for the souls and minds of Americans in this new world order, the Church faces formidable opponents in godless liberal collectivists, neo-conservative fascists, globalists, New Age religion, Islam and Satanism.

No longer are we only threatened from without by a group of balding hard-line Communists – we are now threatened from within – by a group of intelligent, well-dressed globalists who are convincing America and the nations of the world that the only way to lasting world peace is the establishment of a … “New World Order.”

New World Order is a term used to describe the uniting of the world’s superpowers to secure and maintain global peace, safety, and security. Synonymous with the term New World Order are the terms one world government, global governance, and globalization. All these terms are used interchangeably and at different times to communicate to different audiences. Make no mistake – they all basically mean the same thing. Read more »

The United Nations’ 18 acres of prime Manhattan land was donated by the Rockefeller family (the CFR’s chairman is David Rockefeller).

America sat down in San Francisco with Alger Hiss and joined the United Nations, the successor to the League of Nations – Alger Hiss, a charter member of the CFR; Alger Hiss, whose sympathy with communism can no longer be denied.

The U.N. Charter and constitution is a thin paraphrasing of the Soviet model which Alger Hiss borrowed from when he coauthored it. The U.N. constitution is therefore a Marxist socialist paradigm.

World regionalism is spelled out clearly in the U.N. Charter, Chapters 8 through 11, using such terms as “regional arrangements, intergovernmental agreements, and metropolital areas.” Advocates of one-world socialism have already divided the world into 85 regions for policing purposes. In adopting the U.N. Charter, Congress has established the Charter as the Supreme Law of the land (Fugi v. State of California, 1950-52). Read more »

It was telling that on the one-year anniversary of Barack Obama’s inauguration the spotlight was not on the president but on a previously little-known Republican state senator who had just won a special election for a Senate seat in the bluest of blue states.

For Obama, gone was the euphoria, the sky-high approval ratings and the aura of invincibility that surrounded his first days in office.

Indeed, after the Democrats’ losses in New Jersey and Virginia and the steepest decline in approval rating of any president after his first year in office, Brown’s triumph was the perfect exclamation mark to Obama’s dreadful first year in office. Read more »

The bravado lasted three days. When Obama campaigned in Boston on Jan. 17 for Obamacare supporter Martha Coakley, not once did he mention the health care bill. When your candidate is sinking, you don’t throw her a millstone.

After Coakley’s defeat, Obama pretended that the real cause was a generalized anger and frustration “not just because of what’s happened in the last year or two years, but what’s happened over the last eight years.” Read more »

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration soon may guarantee as much as $18.5 billion in loans to build new nuclear reactors to generate electricity, and Congress is considering whether to add billions more to support an expansion of nuclear power.

These actions come after an extensive decade-long campaign in which companies and unions related to the industry have spent more than $600 million on lobbying and nearly $63 million on campaign contributions, according to an analysis by the Investigative Reporting Workshop at American University .

Nuclear power generates about 20 percent of America’s electricity, but many existing reactors are aging and no new plant has been authorized since the 1979 incident at Three Mile Island , when small amounts of radiation were released and authorities feared for days that a huge surge might escape. That’s in part because it can cost as much as $8 billion to build a nuclear plant, and in part because the problems of nuclear waste and safety remain unsolved. Read more »

Democrats’ Bush-bashing strategy goes bust

Bush is old news he is not the President any more, no matter what he did is past and the new President should be smart enough to know that what ever happen, he should know how to clean up the mess, and be qualified to do the job, if he can’t do it, then he should be removed and a qualified person should be elected to do the job and look to the future not the past.

After three consecutive losses in statewide races, some top Democrats are questioning a tactic aimed at boosting the party’s candidates in each of those contests: Bush-bashing.

Running as much against the Bush White House as he was running against Sen. John McCain, Barack Obama easily carried Virginia, New Jersey and Massachusetts in 2008.

Yet when Democratic nominees for governor in Virginia and New Jersey and for Senate in Massachusetts sought to tie their GOP opponents to the still-unpopular former president, the strategy didn’t resonate. Voters were more focused on the current administration or local political issues — and the onetime Democratic magic formula seemed yesterday’s news. Full Story

Delivering the weekly Republican address, Congressman John Boehner (R-West Chester) provides a prebuttal to President Obama’s upcoming State of the Union address.  Boehner says Republican Scott Brown’s victory in the Massachusetts special election gives Washington Democrats a choice: work with Republicans to create jobs and get our economy moving again or double down on the job-killing policies that are making matters worse.  Boehner also outlines Republicans’ better solutions to address today’s challenges, including a no-cost jobs plan and the only health care bill that would lower premiums up to 10 percent.

Words are cheaper than the budget

POLITICO

By ALEX CONANT
1/27/10

In Wednesday’s State of the Union speech, President Barack Obama will vow a return to fiscal responsibility, featuring a temporary freeze on “nonsecurity” discretionary spending. We’ve heard this sort of talk from Obama before — but his words have proved cheaper than his budget.

Shortly after his Inauguration, Obama also went before Congress pledging fiscal austerity. Then, he “pledged to cut the deficit in half by the end of my first term in office.” He added that “because we’re also suffering from a deficit of trust, I am committed to restoring a sense of honesty and accountability to our budget.”

Now, as Obama readies his second budget, both the actual and the “trust” deficit are much bigger.

First, the actual budget: While Obama inherited an economic mess, the short-term budget outlook was relatively stable. Until the economic meltdown and subsequent financial bailouts in fall 2008, President George W. Bush’s past few budgets contained essentially no increases in nondefense discretionary spending (the sort of freeze Obama now wants to reinstate) and actually forecast a small surplus by 2012. So rosy was the nation’s short-term fiscal outlook that John McCain confidently promised a balanced budget during his first term if elected president. Read more »

Deputies say Private Sean Johnson drove the Humvee from his army base at Fort Stewart in Georgia all the way into Volusia when he ran out of gas.

A Volusia County deputy saw the vehicle stranded on Interstate 95 near the Port Orange exit and stopped to check it out.
He got suspicious when Johnson didn’t have any military paperwork to prove he was on a military mission.

The deputy called the Army. Army police say Johnson was AWOL and had stolen the Humvee earlier in the week.

The less it is monitored, the more liberties it takes.

If you don’t like your tax bill now, watch out for the plans of the United Nations. The U.N. has been cooking up proposals to tax you every time you fly, drink, bank, use the Internet or earn a buck.

For an institution that has yet to master the art of policing its own accounts, that’s awfully ambitious. But an urge to dig ever deeper into your wallet, dear tax-payer, has become a staple on the drawing boards of U.N. plan-o-crats.

The U.N. already collects billions in both dues and voluntary contributions from the governments of the developed world–first and foremost from the U.S., which typically foots the bill for roughly one-quarter of most major U.N. activities. The actual U.N. budget is a slippery number. The book-keeping is opaque, often tardy or incomplete and spread across many parts of the U.N. archipelago, with no single U.N. office fully accountable for the entire system. In 2006 then-Secretary General Kofi Annan said the U.N. system-wide budget was about $20 billion; by now, with ever-expanding U.N. operations, funding appeals and hazily defined “partnerships,” it is certainly larger. But for U.N. spenders this torrent of other people’s money is not enough. Read more »

If you were an Employer would you hire any one if you new that you would get sued for firing some one because they could not do the job or they were causing trouble all the time, or showed up when ever they wanted to, knowing that they could sue if they got fired.
I my self would not hire any one unless they really wanted to work and not there because I had to hire them, so take it from there why do some minorities get a job and not others.(It is a matter of a chip.)

WASHINGTON – It’s bad enough that Greece’s debt problems have rattled global financial markets. In the world’s largest economic and military power, there’s a far more serious debt dilemma.

For the U.S., the crushing weight of its debt threatens to overwhelm everything the federal government does, even in the short-term, best-case financial scenario — a full recovery and a return to prerecession employment levels.

Money Animation _ dinamobomb The government already has made so many promises to so many expanding “mandatory” programs. Just keeping these commitments, without major changes in taxing and spending, will lead to deficits that cannot be sustained.

Take Social Security, Medicare and other benefits. Add in interest payments on a national debt that now exceeds $12.3 trillion. It all will gobble up 80 percent of all federal revenues by 2020, government economists project.

That doesn’t leave room for much else. What’s left is the entire rest of the government, including military and homeland security spending, which has been protected and nurtured by the White House and Congress, regardless of the party in power.

The U.S. debt crisis also raises the question of how long the world’s leading power can remain its largest borrower.

Money Animation _ dinamobomb Moody’s Investors Service recently warned that Washington’s credit rating could be in jeopardy if the nation’s finances didn’t improve.

Despite election-year political pressure from voters for lawmakers to restrain spending, some recent votes suggests that Congress, left to its own devices, probably isn’t up to the task of trimming deficits.

Audit finds US census preparations wasted millions

AP
By HOPE YEN, Associated Press Writer
Tue Feb 16

WASHINGTON – The Census Bureau wasted millions of dollars in preparation for its 2010 population count, including thousands of temporary employees who picked up $300 checks without performing work and others who over billed for travel costs.

Federal investigators caution the excessive charges could multiply once the $15 billion headcount begins in earnest next month unless the agency imposes tighter spending controls, according to excerpts of a forthcoming audit obtained by The Associated Press.

On a positive note, investigators backed the Census Bureau’s decision to spend $133 million on its advertising campaign, saying it was appropriate to boost public awareness. The spending included a $2.5 million Super Bowl spot that some Republicans had criticized as wasteful.

The findings by Todd Zinser, the Commerce Department’s inspector general, highlight the difficult balancing act for the Census Bureau as it takes on the Herculean task of manually counting the nation’s 300 million residents amid a backdrop of record levels of government debt. Read more »

Unemployment eclipses fiscal jolt

By Bob L.  Lets gets back to the late 40s to the early 60s when you could buy some thing before the greed started.

Lets get this Country back to prosperity where it used to be, so you have lower wages but you also have lower taxes, then maybe more people will be put back to work. If people work money comes in, people don’t work no money comes in, so which do you want jobs with big wages and high taxes, or lower wages with lower taxes. And lower wages mean lower prices, it is time to stop being greedy, this gos for CEO, put that money back into the company, prices will come down and people will be able to afford to buy your products, this covers every thing like, homes, cars, insurance, food and so forth. That gos for the Government, live with what you have and nothing more.

Buy America when ever possible, look at it this way you buy America, business buys from other businesses and the world works. If we don’t work we don’t buy from around the world. Its like the law of nature, what gos up  will come crashing  down, like 1929 to 1939, if they keep doing what they are doing today we will see another depression worst then great depression.

Money Animation _ dinamobomb It is time to stop spending money like it grows on trees, stop health care, cap & tax and start getting people back to work and lower all taxes to get COMPANIES to start hiring and not be afraid that taxes will go through the roof after they hirer, the more businesses you get, means the more tax money comes in, then work on health care, better known if you don’t have the money you can not buy it, PERIOD! Like you tell the American people live with in your budget, don’t spend more then you make.

WASHINGTON – The jobless got a hand. Taxpayers got tax breaks. And a sinking economy stabilized.

But the public’s response to President Barack Obama’s recession-fighting policies has been increasingly dreary. And the reason is simple: six months of unemployment above 9.6 percent.

“It doesn’t yet feel like much of a recovery,” Obama had to concede Wednesday, even as he sought to promote his year-old massive economic stimulus bill. Read more »

States must fill $1 trillion pension gap

By Bob L. The way I see it!
HOLD FOR RELEASE AT 12:01 A.M.; U.S. map shows troubled state ...

Here is a good example of why you have high taxes, Government hires to many people to do a job that fewer people can do, then they hirer consulting firms to do what is suppose to be done by the people in these Government jobs that you the tax payer is paying for, then you have to pay for their PENSIONS and HEALTH INSURANCE also. A good example, a private company sends out FOUR workers, to where the Government sends out EIGHT to TEN workers to do the same job, now why are taxes so high, (when some are making $45.00 dollars an hour or more.) Who pays for these WAGES, PENSIONS and HEALTH INSURANCE benefits? YOU, and JUST THINK, you pay into them and don’t get any of there benefits.

This whole article sounds just like Social Security, except on the State level.

HARRISBURG, Pa. – States may be forced to reduce benefits, raise taxes or slash government services to address a $1 trillion funding shortfall in public sector retirement benefits, according to a new study that warns of even more debilitating costs if immediate action isn’t taken.

The Pew Center on the States released a survey Thursday of state-administered pension plans, retiree health care and other post-employment benefits in all 50 states that blamed a decade’s worth of policy decisions for leaving them shortchanged. Don’t Change ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’

By Bob L. We need change and to have an honest Government the is open to the people and not hide behind closed doors.

If there were more people like Ted Nugent, Chuck Norris, just a few of many who believe in this Country, would step forward and get people off their butts, then this and past administrations  would not get away with what they are doing.

We need to get the yuppies, and the chicken little’s who think the world is ending to stop listening to the whiners who are complaining, and trying to make every one think that the world will end if you don’t listen to them, and believe every thing they say.

I just returned home from another U.S military function where it was my honor and privilege to be among the finest people in America. Nothing is more satisfying and rewarding than spending time with our warriors and their families.

Our military is a discriminatory institution. It discriminates based upon age, weight, eye-sight, physical disabilities, and the overall essentiality of a warrior spirit. The military discriminates because it knows that killing the enemy in the most expeditious manner and winning wars is its mission, and that discriminating against certain people is the absolute best policy to ensure complete and total victory. Who could possibly believe that’s a bad idea?

Not everyone can be a member of our military. Americans have no constitutional right to join the military. I was denied enlisting in the Marines a couple of years ago even though I offered to supply the Marines with all their ammunition requirements for a year if they would allow me to join. No luck for the MotorCity gimpy guitarslinger. Read more »

Romney at CPAC: Obama Going Downhill Faster Than Lindsey Vonn

By Human Events
02/18/2010

Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference Thursday afternoon:

Thank you to Jay and to Scott for those generous introductions. Both these men have made real contributions to our nation. It’s good to be back at CPAC. I can’t think of an audience I’d rather be addressing today.

I spent the weekend in Vancouver. As always, the Olympic Games were inspiring. But in case you didn’t hear the late-breaking news, the gold medal in the downhill was taken away from American Lindsey Vonn. It was determined that President Obama is going downhill faster than she is.

I’m not telling you something you don’t know when I say that our conservative movement took a real hit in the 2008 elections. The victors were not exactly gracious in their big win: Media legs were tingling. Time Magazine’s cover pictured the Republican elephant and declared it an endangered species. The new president himself promised change of biblical proportion. And given his filibuster-proof Senate and lopsided House, he had everything he needed to deliver it.

They won, we lost. But you know, you learn a lot about people when you see how they react to losing. We didn’t serve up excuses or blame our fellow citizens. Instead, we listened to the American people, we sharpened our thinking and our arguments, we spoke with greater persuasiveness, we took our message to more journals and airwaves, and in the American tradition, some even brought attention to our cause with rallies and Tea parties. Senator Jim DeMint’s Speech at CPAC

By Sen. Jim DeMint
02/18/2010

Today, U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) spoke at the Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC) 2010 Conference. Below are his remarks as prepared for delivery

Thank you David and thanks to the American Conservative Union for organizing this critical mass of conservative hope and change.

I am excited about the prospects for conservative Republicans.

Three years of a Democrat majority and just one year of President Obama have awakened Americans and led millions to become more passionate advocates for freedom.

This has created a wave of new Republicans who are embracing the energy and passion of the American people.

The Democrats’ arrogance and audacious power grabs have made Americans stand up and say, “Enough is enough.”

We now see all too clearly that the hope and change the Democrats had in mind was nothing more than a retread of the failed and discredited socialist policies that have been the enemy of freedom for centuries all over the world. Read more »

BP, Conoco, Caterpillar Quit Climate Action Group

Connie HairBy Connie Hair
02/18/2010

As Climategate scandals continue to expose widespread fraud in the global warming “scientific” community, three major companies this week announced their withdrawal from the United States Climate Action Partnership (USCAP), a lobbying group of businesses and radical environmentalists that “have come together to call on the federal government to quickly enact strong national legislation to require significant reductions of greenhouse gas emissions.”

BP America, ConocoPhillips and Caterpillar were the largest companies to withdraw from the group this week revealing a refreshing new boldness from companies once browbeaten by radical environmentalists into supporting “global warming” legislation.

Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), top Republican on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, said he wasn’t surprised by this turn of events.

“With cap-and-trade virtually dead this year and the credibility of the UN’s global warming science collapsing, it is no surprise that companies are questioning whether job-killing global warming legislation — no matter how beneficial to their own bottom lines — is really a sound policy after all,” Inhofe told HUMAN EVENTS. “They apparently now see that it’s not. The American people support alternative energy — but not with policies such as cap-and-trade that tax the energy they use now. The best option, the one that Republicans support, is to use all of our domestic energy resources in a way that creates jobs, strengthens energy security, and keeps energy affordable and reliable.” Read more »
